Not often – but, every now and then we’re allowed to see “justice” i.e. the bad guy getting what’s coming to him. Last Saturday, a student decided to be funny and run onto the playing field of a Nebraska football game. Poor guy – he ran right into the arms of the Nebraska Strength Coach. Enjoy….
WOW!! (You don’t have to be a Lego fan to enjoy this!)
A CALL TO ANGUISH
Still one of my all-time favorite excerpts from a sermon. David Wilkerson is the “preacher” in the popular book, The Cross and the Switchblade.
OUR CORRUPT WORLD – COME, LORD JESUS
Players like ISIS, North Korea, Nigeria’s Boko Haram, and even Mexico’s Drug Cartels get lots of publicity. But, there’s so much pain & suffering on planet earth that goes unnoticed. For instance…
QUOTE(s) OF THE WEEK
“Christians are not so much in danger when they are persecuted as when they are admired.” Charles Spurgeon
“There can be little doubt the brief passages cannot and must not take the place of reading the Scripture as a whole.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer (Nick adds: Study the entire Bible. Jesus is present on every page. He is, as theologians have described, “in the Old Testament concealed, and in the New Testament revealed.”)
LAUGHTER IS GOOD MEDICINE:
Q: How do you think the unthinkable?
A: With an itheberg
“Someone stole my Mood Ring. I don’t know how I feel about that.”
GRACE NOTES: “Moving at the Speed of Grief”
It’s been a while since I’ve written about our grief associated with our son, Jordan Blake Watts’, suicide. This is not because we don’t still have our moments of acute grief (Michelle Pittam Watts broke down two weeks ago, I broke down last week) – rather, it’s simply because God’s not instructed me to share from that area of the Watts family – until today.
For those who are hurting deeply…..
Soli Deo Gloria, Nick
