The lawyer to whom Jesus told the parable of The Good Samaritan, the Rich Young Ruler, Nicodemus, the man on the cross next to Jesus on that dark Friday….
They all share something in common – not only with one another, but with each and every one of us.
Join me on Sunday morning, Feb. 15th, at either 9:15 or 10:45, as I preach a sermon I’ve titled, “Awakenings.” Come awake….

The 23rd Psalm
Without question, Psalm 23 is the most familiar & beloved psalm in the psalter. I own a copy of Charles Spurgeon’s “Treasury of David,” Spurgeon’s personal commentary on the Psalms. Consider the description of Psalm 23 as only Spurgeon could describe it…..

APOLOGETICS & SHARING OUR FAITH: KNOW WHY YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOU BELIEVE
“…He who wins souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11:30, nkjv)
“The need for apologetics today is crucial. Believers must realize that we are living in a post-Christian era with a host of worldviews vying continuously for people’s commitments and, indeed, for their very lives. We must face these challenges head-on. Apologetics does not supplant faith, it supplements it. Nor does it replace the Spirit’s working. Rather, the Holy Spirit uses apologetic arguments as vehicles for clarifying the truth of God’s Word. The same verses commanding us to preach the gospel also instructs us to constantly be prepared to correct, rebuke, and encourage with great patience and careful instruction (2 Tim. 4:2).” – Hank Hanegraaff

Dr. Mike Licona is a New Testament scholar. He also happens to be one of my professors at HBU. Licona was interviewed by Lee Strobel for Strobel’s “The Case for the Real Jesus.” So when someone of Licona’s notoriety tweets something I’ve written, well…..I think that’s pretty cool. 🙂

UNVEILING GRACE: LYNN WILDER & ADAM’S ROAD MINISTRY @ BHBC, 8.2.15
While preparing for my presentation to BHBC almost a year ago on the topic of Biblical Christianity vs. Mormon Christianity, I was told there was no better book to equip me (aside from the Bible, of course) for responding to Mormons than Lynn Wilder’s book, “Unveiling Grace.” I contacted Lynn and invited her to come speak at BHBC. She agreed. More on her ministry as the event nears.
“THE KEY TO PRAYER IS SIMPLY PRAYING” (A.W. Tozer)
Reminder: BHBC will be open every Saturday at 5pm (unless notified otherwise) for prayer-walking.

Happy are they who, in searching the Bible, discover their Savior.” – Spurgeon
