VBS KICK-OFF WAS A TOTAL SUCCESS!
At the conclusion of the VBS Kick-Off at TX Water Rampage this past Sunday evening, we baptized three people. Here, I am baptizing 8-year-old Micah Short.
DID JESUS EXIST? (Even Dr. Bart Ehrman believes Jesus exited.)
“Every week I receive two or three emails asking me whether Jesus existed as a human being… The reality is that whatever else you may think about Jesus, he certainly did exist… The view that Jesus existed is held by virtually every expert on the planet.” Dr. Bart Ehrman; “agnostic with atheistic leanings”; Professor of Religious Studies at UNC, Chapel Hill.
WHAT DIFFERENCE DID JESUS MAKE?
“Both for God and for us, he made possible an intimacy that had never before existed. In the Old Testament, Israelites who touched the sacred Ark of the Covenant fell down dead; but people who touched Jesus, the Son of God in flesh, came away healed. To Jews who would not pronounce or even spell out the letters in God’s name, Jesus taught a new way of addressing God: ‘Abba’, or ‘Daddy’. In Jesus, God came close.” Philip Yancey
“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” (Ephesians 2:13)
THE FAITH OF DARWINIAN EVOLUTIONISTS
Never forget: Christianity requires faith, but so does Darwinian evolution.
“Evolution itself is accepted by zoologists not because it has been observed or…can be proved by logically coherent evidence to be true; but because the only alternative, Special Creation, is clearly incredible.” C.S. Lewis quoting D.M.S. Watson in Lewis’ “The Weight of Glory”. Dr. Watson was the Jodrell Professor of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy at University College, London from 1921 to 1951.
