“OUTPACING PERSECUTION” – The Explosive Growth of Christianity in India
December 2016’s cover story in Christianity Today: “…[thousands can be seen] departing the [first worship service of the day at] Calvary Temple (in Hyderabad, South India) – and it’s 6am, no less. The church can accommodate 35,000 people and fills each of its five Sunday services. Its Sunday school teaches 7,000 children…Last year, Evangelical Fellowship of India (EFI) launched a free 24-hour hotline for Christians to report persecution. The line initially collapsed from overload…”Not a day goes by without a pastor being beaten up, a church being attacked, or a Christian home being robbed.” Yet – like the early church in Acts, the church keeps growing… [end of excerpt] God is preparing this world for His return.
QUOTE(s) of the WEEK
“If we can’t make sense of something, it may simply be wrong. But it might also be so profound and complex that we simply cannot comprehend it. Patristic writers regularly compared understanding God with looking directly into the sun. In much the same way as the human eye cannot cope with the brilliance of the sun, so the human mind cannot cope with the glory of God.” Theologian & Scientist, Alister McGrath
“There are many sorts of broken hearts – and Christ is good at healing them all.” Charles Spurgeon
