UNBELIEVABLE!
These kids could open up a show in Branson right now! Steve Martin, an amazing banjo player in his own right, once said, “The banjo is a happy instrument.” I 100% agree. 🙂

MODERN CHRISTIAN WORSHIP MUSIC & THE ISSUE OF “PERFORMANCE-ISM”
All blogs and commentaries are simply someone’s opinion about something. And, frankly, most blogs I read on the topic of Christian music/worship wear me slick (meaning they’re shallow and polemical). But, when I ran across this one last Fall I couldn’t help but pause for a moment and identify with the author.
I am grateful for Christ allowing me a quarter century in full-time student ministry. I had a blast. However, in the 90’s, I observed a trend that grieved me deeply. It’s what this blog calls “performance-ism”. The blogger describes it this way: “the worship leader as the performer; the congregation as the audience; the sanctuary as the concert hall.”
There is much commentary I could provide here on this topic. But, I will resist that temptation for now. Enjoy the blog (it’s very brief) and, by all means, don’t hesitate to let me know your thoughts. Read the blog here.
