CHANGING OF THE GUARD: E-NEWS
In the coming weeks, since the “interim” has now been removed, I will be turning over the weekly “music notes” to Glenna Applewhite. At the same time, as I begin to now fully take over the leadership of all facets of small groups (SUMMIT Groups), biblical teaching and learning, I will create a weekly e-news for that particular ministry demographic. My plan is to complete this transaction by the first part of June, after Glenna returns from Uganda.
The e-news I will create for our Small Group Leadership will include much of what you have been receiving from me on a weekly basis (devotionals, quotes, articles on current social/global issues, theology, and apologetics) along with occasional articles and resources on biblical teaching and learning, as well as upcoming events.
I do not at all mind continuing to include you in that weekly email (some of you may already be serving in small group leadership and, as such, will be receiving it.) But, if you do NOT want to continue receiving my new E-News simply email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know so that, when I begin said Small Group E-News, your name will not be included in that emailing. And know this: I will NOT be offended if you want off the list! Sometimes, we just receive too much email. 🙂 nw
JUST SO YOU KNOW…
I’m American by birth. I’m Texan by the grace of God. 🙂
Yet another reason why living in Texas is an awesome thing. Read the Forbes article here.

WHICH TAKES GREATER FAITH? GOD or the MULTIVERSE?
The Multiverse Theory is the latest attempt by non-Christian physicists to eliminate God from being the “un-caused cause” (as Thomas Aquinas coined the phrase) i.e. the creator of the universe.
Here, in this brief 5 minute video, astrophysicist, Brian Keating – University of California, San Diego – answers the question, “What’s the greater leap of faith?”
NYT COLUMNIST INTERVIEWS MIT NUCLEAR PHYSICIST
And while we’re on the topic of Science & Faith…
Ian Hutchinson, a professor of nuclear physics at MIT, shares about how he came to faith in Christ and how science supports his faith.
The actual testimony of his conversion experience begins at the 6:30 mark and proceeds for approximately 3 minutes. The first 6 1/2 minutes he explains nuclear fusion. And, from about 9:15 to the end, he discusses faith & science and how they complement one another. Enjoy…
QUOTE of the WEEK
LAUGHTER IS GOOD MEDICINE
Once again, we’ve jumped from Winter straight to Summer.
Me: It’s so hot outside…
You: How hot is it?
Me: I saw a sparrow pick up his worm with a pot-holder.
And a bonus…
GRACE NOTES: A Psalm of Nick Watts
“A psalm,” my professor once told our class, “is simply our response to God’s activity in our lives.”
So, on the five-year anniversary of my son’s death, I penned a psalm. You can read it here.
Soli Deo Gloria, Nick
